About the Artist
Victor Souza (b. 1977) is a visual artist from Tijuana, México.
Self-taught illustrator, who is known best for his work with graphite, ink, charcoal; recently emerged himself into the digital media.
His art will transport you to whimsical, fantastic, and described with details, scenes filled with creatures and characters navigating into their own atmosphere of mystery and fantasy, reminding ourselves the beauty of the darkness, sadness, life and death, childhood, nostalgia, magic and everything in between, all coming from his creative imagination.
As humans, we lived in a hectic world, overwhelmed by current events happening all around us, he likes to create a world in which his illustrations can make us navigate freely to our imagination, explore magical places far from the ordinary, as well as travel through time and enjoy childhood memories one last time.
In 2016, he founded his brand “Blame the Gnome” with the mission to create unique products that are a direct reflection of the whimsical world he created. He has participated in many art markets and shows around San Diego County as well as Tijuana, sharing spaces with artists all over the world.
Victor currently lives with his wife and their two dogs, Robinson and Richard, you’ll find him at any cozy corner of his home drawing and creating something new every single day.
